1. General Terms and Conditions

General Terms and Conditions of Use and Online Shopping on the Website of Steno Publishing House

Scope
This document contains the General Terms and Conditions whereby Publishing House "Steno Enev and Co" based in Varna, 2, Batak St., entered in the Trade Register under UIC 103164269 at the Registry Agency, and herein after referred to as Steno Publishing House, offers services and products to its users through its online store www.stenobooks.com. The user shall explicitly and unconditionally agree to these General Terms and Conditions of using the site and the online store.

1. Registration
Registration is not obligatory for online shopping but users shall provide a first name and a family name, a valid delivery address, a phone number and an email address. If a user chooses to sign up, a registration form shall be filled in with correct details needed to issue an invoice. Upon registration or when shopping without a registration a customer shall mark the box “I agree to the terms and conditions” and make an online statement declaring familiarisation with and acceptance of the above General Terms and Conditions.

2. How to order
2.1. Placing an Order
Steno Publishing House delivers goods through its online store after a customer places an order containing a payment option, name, delivery address, е-mail address and contact phone number. A valid order placed by a customer is given a number and confirmation of receipt.

2.2. Order confirmation and execution
A Steno operator shall confirm by phone any order placed by a customer. Steno Publishing House shall reserve the right not to execute an order made through its online store www.stenobooks.com, if data submitted are not correct or the product ordered is not available. A Steno operator shall duly notify a customer about this using the contact phone number or email address if they are correctly stated.

An order confirmation is made within the business day if it was made before 16:00 hrs, or on the next business day if it was made after 16.00 hrs. In case an order was made on a holiday, confirmation is made on the next business day. A customer may cancel or change an order before receiving a confirmation by an operator. If an order is cancelled and a customer has made payment with a credit or debit card, s/he is duly refunded.

A customer makes payment based on the prices included in the order. In case a product cannot be delivered, the operator may offer an alternative product with similar characteristics and price which the customer can accept or refuse.

2.3. Order delivery price and term
When the order is made through a courier the delivery is within 3 working days for the big cities and as per the schedule of the courier for small towns and villages. If there is a possibility the delivery could be made on the next working day if it was chosen by the client.The price of the delivery depends on the tariffs of the courier companies which the publisher has a contract with. The client is obliged to check the order before signing the bill of lading in a case of payment at the delivery.
The payment for an order in which an advance payment is required has to be made with 7 days of the date the order has been generated in the website. If it has not been made within this period the order will be cancelled and invalid.
For orders abroad the delivery is within 7 days for Europe and 10 days for non European countries when a courier company is used.
When Bulgarian posts are used for European countries the delivery is within 15 days and for non European countries 30 days.

2.4. Returns and replacements
In case a delivery is delayed irrespective of the reasons, a Steno operator shall notify the customer of that and state a new delivery date. If the product sustains damage during shipment, it will be replaced at the expense of the Publishing House.

If an item is found to be defective within 24 hours of delivery while keeping its original condition and packing, the Publishing House shall replace it with a new one or refund the sum paid as per art. 55 of the Law on Consumer Protection, after the date the order was refused by the customer. Shipping and other expenses on goods delivery and return will be at the expense of the Publishing House. If an item does not correspond to the description and main characteristics stated on the site, Steno refunds the customer fully, including the shipping expenses incurred, as per art. 59, para 3 of the Law on Consumer, within 7 days of delivery of an item keeping its original condition and packing. The shipping packaging may not be kept.

Refunds are made up to 30 days of delivery to the bank account stated by the customer. In case the customer has made payment using a debit/credit card, the sum will be posted to the same bank account and card used.

2.5. Warranty conditions
if a book arrives with missing or duplicate pages/parts and defective binding, it is subject to replacement. If a CD or other digital products bought are physically damaged or their content is impossible to open by a digital media, it is subject to replacement.

These warranties do not apply for rare, old or out-of-print books. As they have been used, the Publishing House does not ensure that their condition is good. In case a used book shows signs of wear or some defects, they will be mentioned in the description accompanying it and will be seen in photos. By placing an order to buy such a book a customer agrees to its condition.

To replace a defective item a customer shall call 052/800 222 during office hours – Monday through Friday from 9.00 to17.00 hrs, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays excluded, and state a Waybill number for delivery. The Publishing House gives the address to return the item and the courier company it uses. Returns can be made only in business days between 9.00 and17.00 hrs. In case the customer uses a method of returning a book different from that offered by the Publishing House, shipping expenses will be covered by the customer.

2.6. Conditions and Methods of Payment
Prices of goods and services at stenobooks.com, include VAT. Steno Publishing House reserves the right to change prices at any time without advance notice as well as to correct wrong technical or other item parameters. Misprints, differences in colour presentationand design changes are also likely to be encountered.

2.6.1. Payment on delivery
Using this method a customer pays the price due including shipping expenses to a courier on item delivery.

2.6.2. Payment by credit or debit card
Payment by credit or debit card is made through an online card payment system. Customers are taken automatically to the system where they enter their card details and make the payment due. The transfer includes the price of courier service delivery and the customers do not need to pay any additional fees upon receipt of the item. 

MasterCard, MasterCard Electronic, Maestro, VISA, VISA Electron, V PAY are accepted.

Customers shall provide card information such as a card number, period of validity, 3-digit security code, cardholder name and address.

2.6.3. Protection of card details
While an authentication process is taking place, access is restricted to personal data exchanged between a card holder and a bank although the transaction is effected on the online store site.

After a customer places an order and chooses a “bank transfer” method of payment, a numbered offer is generated. The customer then makes a bank transfer to the account of Steno Publishing House, including the offer number as reason for payment. The validity of the offer is three working days.

2.6.4. Shopping on credit
The Publishing House does not offer items for shopping on credit except for purchases made by a credit card that the customer holds.

3. Copyright
All content on this web site, such as text, images or multimedia is protected by copyright. All rights, including those not explicitly mentioned, are reserved. No portion of the contents of this site may be used unless otherwise stated in these Terms and Conditions of Use without the express written consent of Steno Publishing House.

No copying, distribution, storage or the use of part or all the contents in any form whatsoever is permitted without the express prior written permission of the owners Steno Publishing House.

Names of items, authors or companies mentioned in the contents of stenobooks.com, may be trademarks or trade names of their respective owners and thereforeunder the protection of copyright law. User access to stenobooks.com shall not in any way be regarded as granting alicense or right to use any trademark or artwork.

4. Personal information
Signing up to www.stenobooks.com a user gets a personal profile for identification on the site. Users are entitled to amend information entered during registration at any time as well as update any data declared in relation to using services offered on stenobooks.com.

Visiting and browsing the website www.stenobooks.com does not require registration by users. You may have to register to use certain services offered by www.stenobooks.com. You will be informed automatically by Stenobooks.com which cases require registration for use of the services offered.

Accessing www.stenobooks.com, a user agrees that Steno Publishing House may store and process the log files on its server www.stenobooks.com regarding details of initial site visit (IP address, cookies, etc..), to identify a user and verify the earliest use of stenobooks.com, as well as the user’s agreement to these General Terms and Conditions respectively.

In order to be able to use services on stenobooks.com, requiring registration, users shall sign up beforehand, filling in a registration form online on the site ofstenobooks.com. On completion of registration users shall provide personal data as well as other details called for by the online form.

The information, by which a person may be identified, may include a first name, family name, date of birth, gender and any other details that a person provides willingly upon registration on stenobooks.com. The information referred to includes any data entered, used or submitted upon registration, receipt or use of products and services throughstenobooks.com (as far as applicable), participation in promotions, sweepstakes and contests, filling out questionnaires, and other forms. A user may request access by stenobooks.com to amend or delete this registration with the information incorporated in it.

Accepting the General Terms and Conditions users agree to have the personal information submitted by them be processed for direct marketing purposes. If they object to the use of their personal data for direct marketing, including the receipt of promotional and commercial emails, they are entitled to do so by sending a written message to stenobg@gmail.com.

Steno Publishing House shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damages suffered by users resulting from the use or inability to use the site stenobooks.com or the services it provides or associates with.

Personal information provided by users shall not be submitted to a third party for commercial, promotional or other purposes.

5. Posting comments and participation in forums on stenobooks.com
Stenobooks.com may enable its users to publish comments about the products and services of Steno Publishing House and the content of its website. To post comments on the site users may have to make a registration.

Users of stenobooks.com cannot publish obscene or vulgar comments or opinions, incitement to racial discrimination, ethnic, sexual and religious intolerance, degrading the integrity of Steno Publishing House or third parties, or any other content which violates the laws of Republic of Bulgaria. Stenobooks.com reserves the right to ban or delete comments and opinions posted on its website in violation of the rules stated in the sentence above.

Steno Publishing House is not liable for the content, truthfulness and origin of the comments published on stenobooks.com.

Steno Publishing House has the right to notify the respective bodies and institutions and submit information about authors of comments and opinions violating the Bulgarian laws.

By posting a comment or opinion on the site of stenobooks.com, a user is deemed to have read and agreed to the General Terms and Conditions and is obliged to comply with them.

6. Liabilities
Steno Publishing House reserves the right to change without prior notice the technology and design of the services it offers.

Steno Publishing House reserves the right to change the content of its website and the present General Terms and Conditions without prior notice to its users about the changes. Amendments to General Terms and Conditions of Use and online shopping on stenobooks.com are published on the website and are accessible to all users.

Steno Publishing House reserves the right to notify its users of new services or changes in conditions and methods of use of existing services.

6.1. Links to other businesses
The website may provide links to the sites of other businesses owned or operated by third parties not by Steno Publishing House. These have been provided only for your convenience. Steno does not assume any responsibility or liability for the content, privacy and security policies of all these sites.

Steno Publishing House does not bear responsibility for the Internet connection quality and condition, nor for the working order ofthe devices providing them from your computer to the Website server.

7. Prices
Steno Publishing House is entitled to amend prices of its own accord at any time without prior notice to users. Users shall pay the price displayed on the website at the time of placing an order irrespective of whether it was higher or lower than the price stated at present. In the event of technical mistakes made while orderingon stenobooks.com Steno Publishing House has the right to refuse an order and not indemnify a customer in any wayexcept by recovering the sums paid and/or deposited by the user, if any.

8. Applicable law
The provisions of the Bulgarian laws in force will apply to all issues unsettled by these General Terms and Conditions.

Any dispute relating to these Terms and Conditions, which the parties have failed to resolve through negotiations and by mutual consent, shall be referred for judgment to the competent Bulgarian court.

The General Terms and Conditions define as a “User” or “Customer” any person who has accessed the website www.stenobooks.com on  Internet. The sitestenobooks.com is property of Steno Publishing House, represented by Plamen Enev, UIC 103164269, BG 103164269; address: Varna, 27, General Kiselov St., fl. 1, office 2.

Accessing www.stenobooks.com, a user agrees and is required to adhere to these General Terms and Conditions of using the site at all times, from initial opening to leaving it.
